Decide to Suicide? By: A. San Pedro

When we are born from our mothers, we are claimed to be God’s greatest creations. Living and walking in the environment of our world. God gave us a gift to be good stewards and to take care of our planet just like guardians.

We usually develop problems in life and I think that problems helps us improve our well being and our mentality, helps people try to handle stress and maintain the problem.

Suicide is defined as killing oneself in purpose. and approximately 100,000 people commit suicide. Our Generation right now is currently corrupted with suicidal deaths, mainly the deaths are from specific groups. Teenagers are the main groups that usually commit suicide.

In today’s society technology advances way too fast. Evolution to phones, massive upgrades to computers, Huge flat screen TV’s. Technology is quite advanced, and this means that cyber bullying is currently the main type of bullying nowadays. Internet connections help technology feel so powerful.

Social media became a world wide problem and teenagers are either harassed or bullied, teenagers are having this problem everyday; although teenagers have the option to block other users that are provoking them over the internet, they still get bullied within outdoor society.

Kids nowadays are being bullied by what they’re doing such as drinking, one thing that kids shouldn’t do at such a young age. Drugs, easy to get nowadays because people make them. Partying at night, kids right now are partying so hard that sometimes they get drugged then they are forced to do stupid and unexplainable things. The things that kids do, get something bad right back at them and bullying became one thing specifically

Christians believe that the term suicide is a mortal sin. According to the Bible, Genesis 1:26 -27, it says: “Then God said”, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” This text means that we are all created in the image and imagination of God; and taking our lives means that we are destroying God’s greatest creation.

Abortion, why does it exist? By: A. San Pedro

“It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.”

-Mother Theresa

Abortion is defined as deliberately destroying of a human pregnancy, basically related to murder but expected in time, mainly the first 28 days of pregnancy. Abortion is a choice between deciding your child’s life to be spared or killed while its body is being developed inside the mother’s womb. How does it work? To sum it up they remove the embryo which has the child inside, then they kill it just like that; but during this operation women must follow a set of requirements before heading to the operation. They must not eat, drink or smoke, 6 hours before the operation, must bring your referral letter, blood group card and an arrangement to drive back home.

Why give abortion to a child so innocent? Well there are many reasons that are quite traumatizing in my eyes and some that have such a bad taste.

Women who are raped are left with a decision to spare or kill their future child which is a complex issue and a problem to the Catholic Church and the ethics of religion. Although it doesn’t put others into an emotional breakdown but woman who are affected by this problem are left traumatized or emotionally sick.

Education is personally private for a young teenager to bear with. Teenagers ageing 17 to 18 are in the stages of graduation but if pregnancy comes into the way, they are forced to skip school and end to support the child instead. The Government then funds you and your child, plus given advice from veteran parents on how to handle their own child.

According to Exodus Chapter 20:30: “The Ten Commandments” tells the story of Moses travelling to Mount Sinai alone to receive the gift of God, The Ten Commandments is basically the word of God written in 2 stone slabs by his hand. One of the Ten Commandments says: “Thou shall not murder” explaining that you shall not kill whether a man, woman or child with any type of reason since they are God’s creation and murdering it means that God’s piece of creation was a waste.

The Catholic Church refuses the act of abortion since it kills a child and ends up as murder. According to the Bible, the Book of Numbers in the Old Testament says little bit of Abortion, it is an ordeal of jealously that has been administered by a priest of a wife whose husband thinks that she is unfaithful of her future child.

Abortion

A full description of abortion.

From the Bible’s sources Genesis 1:28, God commanded that our first parents will “Be fertile and multiply” Why did he do that? Because God himself is fertile. Another Bible reference Genesis 4:1: When the first mother brought forth the first child, she exclaimed, “I have brought forth a man with the help of the Lord

God created us with his hands, he gave us personalities, gave us gifts, life, knowledge, willpower and love. If we had a chance to breath in this world why can’t we let others live? This is my question to you.

Mother Theresa quotes one thing about Abortion:

“I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is ‘Abortion’, because it is a war against the child… A direct killing of the innocent child, ‘Murder’ by the mother herself… And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love… And we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts…”

Is cloning really necessary in this time?……By: hi im Andrew

Cloning, defined as the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals that mainly occurs in nature when organisms such as bacteria, insects or plants reproduce asexually. Cloning in biotechnology terms refers in processes used to create copies of DNA fragments from the original source or organisms. This term also goes towards the production of multiple copies of a product such as technology for starters, which reflects on digital media or software; but why clone animals if they can just reproduce an offspring?

Well the truth is that scientist are trying to protect endangered animals from its extinction. Animals such as pandas, Rhinos, ferrets and various amounts of animals, mainly in the south East Asian area. Right now scientist hasn’t thought on considering on making research on non-endangered animals. What gave motivation to scientist on cloning animals was the famous experiment on Dolly the sheep back in 1996. Dolly was produced through reproductive cloning; reproductive cloning is genetic duplication of an existing organism particularly transferring the nucleus of somatic cell of the organism into an enucleated oocyte. Sadly Dolly died at the age of 6, which is half of the normal age of an ordinary sheep, Dolly died through arthritis and lung tumour. If this is the reason for scientist to clone animals, then what is the purpose of cloning humans?

The scientific purpose for cloning humans is mainly on curing the incurable, to cure cancer, to help people who are infertile. Scientist have been researching humans for quite a while now. Their main objective is to find the solution for incurable diseases and cancer, they research health and blood of a human; for the most part they research the cell of the human that has been contacted with cancer. Scientist investigate the cancer cell and how it changes the blood cell of a human body.

Infertile, is defined as unable to produce, unable to produce child. People who are infertile are currently suffering. Being infertile is very devastating for all of us.

What Christians believe with cloning is really an undesirable act from science. Christians believe that God gave us human beings to have the responsibility to be good stewards of our world. What it means is taking care of our planet and humans that are living within it. Christians believe that scientist just play around with genetics of a human and somehow play a role of God making them not good of a steward.

Pope Benedict XVI, condemns human cloning and its lead to its so-called “benefits”. The leader of many Roman Catholics said that scientist should be guilty for their actions and offences against human dignity and also using it as “Biological matter”. The Pope wishes the end of it; but science advances way too quickly for the Pope’s intervention to ever stop cloning. He also said about the church developing ‘new problems’ about the fact of freezing embryos, designing babies, stem cell research and the bold attempts of human cloning.

In my opinion cloning can be a solution to endangered animals especially rhinos and pandas; but I still think its quite useless to clone endangered animals in order to keep its population steady. If a type of animal is close to extinction, the only thing better is to breed the type. I agree to the views from Christians, they specially explain about dignity and God; however science has its reasons and scientist have ambitions in either curing incurable cancer or diseases or helping the endangered animals. To put this in conclusion, Science and Religion do not mix together.
